Dayan qigong is a delightful exercise system for health and fitness based on the powerful and graceful movements of the wild goose. The forms include a greater variety of movement than typical martial arts based forms such as tai chi.
The primary pair of forms can be joined together to make a continuous practice. See Wild Goose Qigong Form 1 and Wild Goose Qigong Form 2.
I practice and teach this graceful and powerful exercise system and regularly train with the UKTQF.
There are several Wild Goose Qigong products available to buy new or second-hand. I'm making notes here on all the products I have tracked down and own or have seen.
Most products focus on the first form consisting of 64 movements, Wild Goose I.
ISBN 7504601276
The first and second 64 movements are illustrated with line drawings. It is the only complete description of the second 64 movements in English. It is very hard to find.
The first 64 movements are described in English and illustrated with photographs of a young Chinese woman. Also contains a Chinese description at the back of the book.
ISBN 1886969787
Hong-Chao Zhang studied with Yang Meijun. Begins with a brief history of Qigong. The 64 movements are illustrated with photographs of Hong-Chao Zhang. Arrows are superimposed on the photos to show direction of movement. Health benefits of each movement are noted. The postures are dramatic, taking full advantage of Hong-Chao Zhang's flexibility.
This book is in print and should be readily available.
ISBN 0865681651
Wen-Mei Yu studied with Yang Meijun. Line drawings of meridians and extraordinary vessels. Five element theory. Hand forms and stances. The 64 movements are illustrated with photographs of Wen-Mei Yu. Each movement has notes on the chi essentials. This book is becoming harder to find.
ISBN 1903443016
Michael Tse studied with Yang Meijun. Anecdotes of Yang Meijun. Five element theory. The 64 movements are illustrated with line drawings of Michael Tse. Interspersed are line drawings showing acupressure point details. Appendices give overview diagrams of acupressure points and a cross-reference of their names in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
I ordered this direct from Michael Tse's website, as it is not currently (2007) available via Amazon UK.
ISBN 1903443032
Similar in style to the book above covering the 1st 64. Illustrated with line drawings of Michael Tse. This book covers movements 1 - 37 of the 2nd 64 set.
ISBN 094788940X
This is an unusual inclusion, because this book is not about Wild Goose Qigong. I bought it because it has a picture of Yang Meijun on the cover, in fact one which appears in her book (ISBN 7504601276).
It includes information about several different qigong practices and includes line drawings of the Beijing 24 form of taiji.
A thin pamphlet with a blue cover. No ISBN in Western script. Chinese pictograms only. Outline drawings of the first 64 movements.
ISBN 7-5067-0620-2
Five page introduction in English. Chinese pictograms only in the body of the book. Outline drawings of several other Wild Goose sets.
ISBN 7-5351-0025-7
Chinese pictograms only. Photographs of Yang Meijun performing the first and second 64 movements.
There are a few videos on YouTube of parts of various sets. I've put together a Wild Goose Dayan Qigong playlist.

There are a few variations towards the end of this DVD from the form I'm learning. Still very useful though.
I've learned the end section, the circle walking, with the UKTQF. This DVD provides a useful reminder.
I've learned the first two sections of Spiral and Tripod with the UKTQF. This DVD provides a useful reminder.
I've recently made a start at learning the Soft Palms set with the UKTQF. This is a good reminder.
I've learned the first two sections of Aromatic Qigong with the UKTQF. This DVD provides a useful reminder.
Hong-Chao Zhang studied with Yang Meijun. This VHS tape complements his book. The first 64 movements are shown twice. The first time has an accompanying voiceover track and divides the set into small sections. The second demonstration is continuous and has no voiceover. The pace is very gentle. Hong-Chao Zhang demonstrates the same flexibility than can be seen in his book.
