Babylon 5

Babylon 5 (B5) is a science fiction show with a challenging, on-going storyline. Just about the complete opposite of Buck Rogers really!

Conventions and Meetings

As dedicated fans of B5, Nikki and I attended both days of Babcom '95 at the NEC, Birmingham, England.

The second SF convention we attended in 1995 was Wolf 359: The Gathering.

We have enjoyed our first steps in con-going, and it's especially nice to meet other fans who share our enthusiasm.

April 14th 1996 we attended the fan meet in Avebury, Wiltshire.

The next con we attended was Wolf 359: The Encounter in Blackpool, June 1996.

Soon after (22nd June 1996) came Babcom '96 at the Empire Theatre, Shepherd's Bush, London. We only attended the Saturday. Jerry Doyle and Andrea Thompson came down with food poisoning :-(

If you have plenty of time, you can follow the newsgroup rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5. Slightly less confrontational is rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated. Both these groups are very busy. Alternatively, UK fans meet in uk.media.tv.sf.babylon5 and uk.media.tv.sf.babylon5.social. They tend to be more friendly and have more manageable amounts of traffic.

Gold Channel is a good UK Web site for B5 info.

Some on-line fans of B5 gather in a talker called UnderWorld. You may meet me there, my nickname is Bester.

My better half and I have a weakness for B5 merchandise, so we bought a box of the Fleer trading cards, first series.

We bought a set of the second series too.
